I am a legally trained non-attorney with substantial mediation training and experience. I specialize in Family Mediation issues, focusing on constructive ways to resolve conflicts. My main area of focus and practice has been in assisting co-parents in the development of comprehensive durable parenting plans. These parenting plans address visitation, exchanges, communication between parents, and other ancillary issues where couples need guidance and support within their individual family dynamic.

I am currently providing mediation services at (The Children's Family Court in Monterrey Park) in the Los Angeles area. In addition, I have over 30 years experience in Human Resources conciliation primarily dealing with management decisions, and human resource administration. I also assist families and business organizations in my private practice to overcome conflict by assisting in the preparation of a mutually acceptable proposal based negotiated agreement. My main focus is to manage a mediation process that encompasses principled and transparent negotiation. I do not provide legal advise, however I always encourage parties in conflict to seek legal advice from certified legal counsel so that that they can make informed decisions during the mediation process.

My belief is that relational conflict is an issue that affects not only the family, but also business organizations. Such relational conflict within a business organization will impact overall operational efficiency. Managing this relational dysfunction can improve operational productivity and propel an organization to function more effectively toward continued growth and success.

14 years operating as a mediator in the greater Los Angeles area.
Currently working as a Panel Member and Family Mediator for Southern California Family Mediation serving the Monterrey Park Children's Court. The main issues addressed are to assist families to develop cohesive and durable parenting plans. In addition, as principal for Koenig Mediation, LLC., I am assisting 501(c)(3) organizations with collaboration projects, and volunteer relational communications to develop operational efficiencies.
I always seek to guide clients in approaching conflict as a challenge to be overcome. Utilizing a proposal based process, clients can learn to either accept a proposal, reject it, or think on it! As a mediator, I must respect party self determination. This requires that each party. to a conflict is properly informed, and that they use their own judgement in making decisions that may meet their overall requirements under any agreement.

The mediation approach that I like to utilize is one that deals not only with the legal rights, monetary arrangements and other concerns, but also to focus on the many layers that may not normally be uncovered that encompass relationships. Can we discover together common denominators in mediation that might be mutually beneficial, if addressed, without compromising the relationship? Rather, to find creative solutions that would otherwise never be discovered.
